Biot & Empath for Orphans
Biot received his formal education to be a history teacher. Born and raised near Jinga Uganda, he quickly realized that government schools did not offer vocational education opportunities for young people. So he set out on his own to fill the gaps. Establishing Empath for Orphans, Biot teaches children how to paint and then purchases their paintings to be sold at his family owned shop in Jinga. He believes this teaches skill and provides economic empowerment. In 2019, through a series of wonderful connections, Biot connected with Paul of Hand Mod, who shares a similar philosophy of the value of vocation. Together, they created the Uganda Collection. Proceeds go to continue to fund Biot's work with the children and expanding into other areas of vocational empowerment for women specifically. Funding is overseen by Help International Colorado. We believe in supporting boots on the ground community leaders is the way to progress with all funds going directly to fund this project.
"These collaborations have offered me a genuine feeling of value & positive energy. Connecting with Biot and other artists from around the world has helped HandMod and myself establish very unique friendships and opportunities to assist in doing good. HandMod is committed to finding ways to put money and tools in the hands of the people around this world that are already doing it." - Paul, Owner/Creator HandMod
